   When everybody was happy to see the Romanian directors finally dropped the communism theme - BANG - this happens. However, it’s actually not as bad as I’ve expected. Actually, I could say there’s some pretty decent black humor in there.

   Happy to hear that Cristian Mungiu, who won Palme d’Or at Cannes in 2007 for 4 Months 3 Weeks and 2 Days, is again nominated for Cannes, this time for the film “Beyond the Hills”.

   We also have Cristi Iftime among the nominees for the The Cinefondation Selection with his short “The Camp in Razoare”.

    Think of the last porn movie you saw, add some artsy desperation, raw anger corrupted - at times - by vivid excitement and long camera takes. Spice that up with some shameless alienation and there you go, you have “Shame”, Steve McQueen’s 2nd feature film.
